Aren’t professional pictures fun?
A friend of mine had some pictures taken of her baby the other day, and in her own words, she “went a little overboard.” It reminded me of when I had the first professional pictures taken of my own babies. I was shocked at how much they wanted for each shot, & how emotionally attached I was to each picture. In an effort to help everyone save money, I thought I’d write up a quick guide highlighting how you can save lots of money on professional pictures by knowing a few simple tips.
It all starts when you join the email programs for the photographers at all the major chain stores; Kmart, Target, JC Penny, Babies R Us, Sears, etc. Around birthdays, and holidays most will send you a "Favorite pose" for around $5. Usually the discounted session includes (1) 8x10, (1) 5x7, & (4) wallets. They will take lots of pictures, and try to get you to buy more for a premium, but don't. Get ONE pose per session.
When you spread these out over the course of a year, you'll have many different pictures showing how your babies have grown for next to nothing. You can even add Mom & Dad to the picture at most of them for no additional cost.
While you’re there, breathe, & stick to your plan. Remember, if you plan ahead & make more than one sitting with the different stores you’ll have plenty of pictures.
